Assignment 3
"The difference is, if I were to spill my beer on you in a bar, it wouldn't affect your long-term health," she says. "If I choose to smoke, it can affect the health of the person near me.”
The article I chose to research was about second hand smoke of Marijuana users. As a medical patient, I know that this is a very difficult line that people cross. Because people think that the product is nature, as opposed to cigarette second hand smoke. Marijuana actually stays in the blood vessels as second hand smoke, for 90 minutes. Where Cigarette second hand smoke only lasts 30 minus in ones blood vessels. The prediction that second hand smoke, in any case, is safe is a lie.
People are marketing that Marijuana is ‘safe’ for everyone, and its not. There are many states that have found mold and other contaminants on their products. Since 2018 there have been more standards and regulations set to make sure that this kind of thing, with this ‘natural’ product, doesn’t happen.
The reason why people are not hearing a lot about these problems with cannabis is because people are saying its an alternative to cigarettes which I disagree with, I believe this is the independent variable. It is still smoke and can do damage as second hand smoke. Many of the people interviewed agree that they hear a lot about cigarette second hand smoke, but not that of cannabis.
