Week 5

1.  The labels are usually on the side or back of the packaging. This information tells the consumer everything he or she needs to know about what is in the product.

2. The products that I notice the most with these claims are drinks. Juice especially, always claiming that it's 100% juice or  sugar free. These claims are usually not accurate. When looking at the nutrition facts we can see there are sugar like substances in the product. One of the most frequently seen substitutes is high fructose corn syrup.

3. At Hannaford where I shop most consumers are between 30 and 60 years of age. I use coupons to save money on these products because of how I live on a budget. However, most people in the register lines will use coupons and special promotionally deals.

4. The most appealing packaging that attracts consumers is often brightly colored and has a large font that makes the product easy to identify. Sometimes theres a slogan that catches peoples eyes but I say its the way the box or packaging looks, its colors, and word placement.

5. The most nutritious items in the store I shop at, Hannaford, are in the bread section. Its called 'natures place'. These items are marked up because they're healthier for you. This then goes into the deli department. I would consider the grains and meats from natures place to be much better then prepackaged frozen entrées.

6. The most expensive things I see in Hannaford are in their 'natures place' section. They have marked up cheese and other deli foods. I see the alternatives to milk as a very expensive item, such as soy and rice milk. The least expensive items I usually see are rice, pasta, and pre-made salads in the bags. they range from $1 to $3.

7. When people see the 2 for 5 sale they think they're saving money and ultimately, in my opinion, believe they are being a smart consumer. So, the consumer plays right into the sellers intent.

8. My brothers daughter goes to school right down the road from where the shooting occurred. I believe all gun owners should go through the proper training and any other necessary requirements to ensure that it will be used for safety purposes only. Liability insurance should be required for all gun owners.

9. I form prospect as a consumer every time I buy new equipment for my job. Im a hockey coach. So, when I buy new equipment for work I always get the insurance. I do this because I never know if it will be faulty or not.

10. ?

11. I think people pay extra every month because they would rather pay the money here and now than have to pay a large deductible if they get in an accident. I assume this is true because people today do not conserve or save money efficiently.
